As anyone knows who has read the Northcoast Comp. Line Forum, Steele is an animal of a different breed.
While generally speaking especially if you include his 5*'s, his plays over time are respectable, he loses all credibility in my book by the lies, half-truths and selected time frames he uses to spin his record.
Sadly, unless you deep which I have attempted to do in the Northcoast Comp. Forum, many believe what he has to say, which in essence projects himself or Commuity Line to be a lot better than it is, which for my money is mediocrity.
In addition, as has been pointed out, he has a zillion different clubs, newsletters, etc., meaning that he can always refer to something which has been winning.
Just last year for example he instituted two sets of late phone services for the NFL-the late phones and then Phil's private plays;I mean really what kind of utter nonsense is this-to say that his own plays might differ from those which are given out to his customers? This is kind of like telling a friend that the best restaurant in town is Steakhouse A, but meanwhile you yourself eat at Steakhouse B.
What really ticks me off about Phil Steele is that if a game wins and is is given out in more than one of the clubs, he counts it multiple times as a winner;if it loses, it only counts once.
The same with totals-they count if they win and are not mentioned if they lose.
Sorry for the rant-all of these things came to mine as I was writing this.
