Scott Spreitzer's NBA Eastern Conf. Finals Game of the Year! -- 80% ATS run!
Cost: Free Pick ($35) Ungraded
Handicapper: Scott Spreitzer
League: NBA
Event: Cleveland Cavaliers vs Detroit Pistons on 05/24/2007 at 17:05
Condition: Detroit Pistons
Grade: Ungraded
Promotion: The line for game two is currently a full point lower than it was in game one. But I believe this one has beatdown written all over it. Cleveland couldn't have asked for a better set-up to steal game one. A decent-sized lead for most of the first three quarters-plus, gave the Cavs a solid shot to wrap it up over the final 12 minutes. But Lebron disappeared...or more likely, just couldn't handle the Pistons blueprint to shutting him down. Ilgauskas had a huge game, Larry Hughes played well for the most part, and Anderson Varejao had his best game of the postseason. Yet, they lost. Meanwhile, Detroit won despite the fact that Tayshaun Prince couldn't drop one in the ocean, finishing 1-11 from the floor, including 0-4 from behind the arc. And, Chauncey Billups was nowhere to be found on the offensive end for most of the first three quarters. He finished with just six FG attempts in the game. That, after averaging 13 FGA per game through the first 10 games of the playoffs. I expect big games by both Billups and Prince on Thursday, not to mention more struggles for Lebron James. The Pistons said they had the goods on how to shut him down - and they were right. With first-time playoff pressure now on James to "take over", we'll look for an off-game offensively for the the rest of the team. It looks like a great spot for a Pistons blowout. We'll lay the points with Detroit on Thursday. Thanks! GL! Scott.
