LAS VEGAS � Think you're going to ace freshman year? Want to put money on that?

A website called Ultrinsic is taking wagers on grades from students at 36 colleges nationwide starting this month.

Just as Las Vegas sports books set odds on football games, Ultrinsic will pay you top dollar for A's, a little less for the more likely outcome of a B average or better, and so on. You can also wager you'll fail a class by buying what Ultrinsic calls "grade insurance."

Yul Na has been indicted on charges of wire fraud and money laundering in connection with what officials say was a sports betting scheme. U.S. Attorney for Nevada Daniel Bogden announced the indictment against Yul Na on Wednesday.
Na is charged with 30 counts of wire fraud, 29 counts of money laundering and criminal forfeiture.
Na allegedly stole nearly $1 million from investors who thought they were participating in a sports betting arbitrage program with guaranteed returns. The indictment alleges Na told investors to make player to player transfers to Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, with notations for the funds to be applied to his personal account. Investors transferred more than $962,000 to Na, which he allegedly used to wager at Mandalay Bay

DEARBORN HEIGHTS/DEARBORN -- A local attorney and two area businessmen were sentenced Tuesday to terms of court supervised probation and fines of $2,000.00 each for their roles in a large scale sports betting operation.

The plan had a couple of different scenarios to steal $2 million from a casino boat: One included hijacking a boat; the other involved shooting at people from the banks of a small island in the Pithlachascotee River channel.

CLEVELAND (AP)�Angered and betrayed by LeBron James�(notes) decision to leave for Miami, Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert accused the NBA�s MVP of quitting during the playoffs.

Gilbert, who posted a letter to Cavs fans on the team�s website shortly after James announced his plans to sign with the Heat, told The Associated Press late Thursday night that it�s �accountability time� for James.

WORCESTER � A 63-year-old Marlboro man pleaded guilty this morning to running an illegal gambling business that netted $2,000 a day.

Robert Duplessis, of 133 Kosmas St., Marlboro, owned all or part of a sports betting business that also involved several other unidentified people.

The FBI and state police brought a case against Mr. Duplessis, a retired truck driver, last month. Mr. Duplessis�s business was investigated in Marlboro and Milford, according to federal court records.

The operation, which prosecutors said was active from at least 2000 to this past April, also involved an office offshore in Jamaica.
