I believe it is to hopefully help shooting averages. They used it in the summer league out here in Vegas, some of the players really liked it.

Instead of a new ball, they ought to get a new commissioner-the present guy is totally incompetent and has no clue as to how to run a league;for example he treats players like babies with his dumb dress codes;it is the teams responsibility and right and NOT his to decide what is proper and what is not.
What about the inappropriate fines for Mark Cuban for criticizing officals?? Has not this dolt heard about free speech?
