(College YTD overall 1-0.....College YTD Best Bets 1-0)
Clemson +3.0 over Florida State Having lost the past two matchups to Clemson, and coming off a mediocre season, and being on the road, the pressure will be more on the Semioles. Florida State breaks in a new offensive coaching staff, which may create a few problems in the early games. Clemson has one of the best running games in the country, so having a new QB may not be as impacting as if they were predominantly a passing team.. The Tigers have lost four of their last five games on their own turf and need a win at home desperately. Although Florida State had an excellent run defense last year. the tandum of C.J. Spiller and James Davis will more than test this defense. These two may be the best RB twosome in the country with possible exception of Arkansas and Oklahoma St. FSU QB Drew Weatherford is still looking to secure his job and might be pressing just a bit to make a good showing. Clemson has a very athletic and talented defense and will be putting early pressure on Weatherford and could create a couple of early game mistakes. FSU has to stop the Tigers running attack and I don’t see that happening. Clemson can control the ball and thus the game. This certainly doesn’t add up to a blow out by either team, and may very well be a low scoring affair, which makes the +3.0 at home look even better. Diamond Line: Clemson -9.92 |
