Dobs-naturally I agree with everything you say.
And yes Phil is locked into betting or or against certain teams week after week no matter how bad a bet it may be.
He also loves playing those big NFL favorites especially teams like New England and Indianapolis;the more they are favored by, the better he things the bet is. I mean who in their right mind would give out the Pats yesterday as a 13 1/2 point favorite, when they are known to let up against teams like Detroit?
Just look at his Powersweep selections some time(the regular plays as well as the rated ones);90% of them are favorites-is it no wonder that his record sucks this year?
If Consumer Reports did a study of the way in which Phil spins a record and compared it with reality, and everyone became aware of it, his service would go out of business;actually I notice that he is discontinuing the 900 phone services at $35 a pop, stating that folks will now have to use the debit card.
Obviously, the real reason is that virtually no one is calling anymore, and Phil can not longer afford to maintain them.
I can't prove it, but personally I believe because his picks have sucked for the entire season and since many know that all of the picks are posted for nothing, his service is in big trouble and that business revenues are down HUGE.
I hate to be mean, but if Phil needs to lie/omit to keep your business going, if his business is hurting or goes bellyup, he deserves it.

He speaks in a very forced and exaggerated cocky voice(sounds very unnatural), trying to exude confidence, while at same time obviously hurting bigtime financially and inwardly from his disastrous season in football. I have read so many comments all over the internet about the total disgust with NC and Phil and the manner in which he does business that it is appalling.
The record for comps. is again under 500(what else is new?) at 17-18.
The pick today is a 3* from Great Lakes on Seattle.

The play today is from the PEOPLE who took over Mike Lee's Service after he died;they are NOT the FRIENDS of Mike Lee as that implies that Mike is living OR that the friends are also dead and talking to Mike somewhere in the Handicapping Hereafter.
The only way they can be friends is if Mike somehow communicates with the people on earth who took over his service;if that is the case, then perhaps they can appear on the George Noorey overnight radio show along with the other delusional crackpots who claim to have taken rides on UFO's, are allegedly from the future, talk to "shadow people," etc.
If indeed these so-called "friends" really are from the Hereafter themselves or communicate with Mr. Lee, then perhaps they can help solve the world's problems or better yet, pick a few winners for Phil Steele on his late phone service, which has one of the the worst percentage records I have ever seen for this season.
Anyhow, the folks who took over Mike Lee's Service from whatever source they got the pick, say the play today is a 3* on MILWAUKEE.

The play today is a 4* from Will(it or won't it)Cover on Phoenix.
Note: if there weren't enough cappers on the Community Line already, California Sports has returned to the fold(i read where someone said they had been lousy overall for season).

Comp. wins-now 20-19 for the season-a far cry from the 68 game/units over 500 he claimed for last season. As usual, he mentions only the short term streak.
Interestingly, the number has been changed to a NON-TOLL FREE NUMBER to a regular number, just one more indication that revenues are sharply down(900 numbers have also been eliminated) because his picks have sucked so bad, and that Phil can no longer afford to have the luxury of an 800 number.
Phil is comical as he tries in his fake voice to try to show excitement when he is really anything but that. This is as phony as when he tries to pretend to be sad after a lousy day in football, of which he had MANY this season.
The pick today is a 3* from the people who took over Mike Lee's service after he died over two years ago and are still trying to capitalize on his name (see my post on 12/6 for more) ands is a 3* on DENVER in the NBA.

Phil talks about all of the services on his Community Line again with a forced sense of excitement-either that or he is living vicariously through these guys as his own plays(especially the top ones) have truly sucked for the entire season-one of the worst records I have seen in the last 30 years I have been following big name services.
The play today is a 38 from "The Coal Man" and is on DALLAS in the NBA.

Here is an example of the lies, spin and deception I am talking about:
Phil admits that Triple Crown lost their 5* on Utah BUT that they won won their other 4 NBA plays won(I show only one posted yesterday, which won and college play which lost and no other plays)
In any event even if he had 4 other winners, he did not mention the loser in college baskets, (and perhaps there were more).
Ok-here is the important part-he tries to override the 5* loser with other winners BUT about a week ago, one of the services on the Community Line had a 5* which Phil bragged about;HOWEVER the same service did poorly on remaining plays bringing overall deficit to a slight minus if all were played according to ratings.
Did Phil talk about the OTHER losing plays? OF COURSE NOT.
I will say in Phil's behalf that he is consistent with his deceptions and 1/2 truths(at best)-he does the same for those on the Community Line as he does for his own Late Phone Picks.
Of course, though as we all know Phil is a "football and football only service" and that he "ALWAYS tells us about the losers as well as the winners."

Just because you only saw one play for Triple Crown yesterday does not mean he did not have more.

There are some consensus sites that only get one pick from handicappers.

These forums, nor consensus services, are not always that accurate. A couple of years ago I subscribed for the whole year to a service and many times on a consensus service I got from a friend did not have all of that service's plays. Sometimes they didn't have any and sometimes they were actually wrong.

As also stated in post, he talked about a capper winning a 5* a week ago but did NOT mention the remainder of the card which lost,, which meant overall card was in negative;the point is and has always been he only talks about the picks which put him or one of his cappers in a favorable light;that is a deceptive and by my definition a lie(by omission).

Comp. wins-26-23 for the season. Whenif he gets up 68 units/games like he claims he did last year(which I don't believe), I will be impressed. No matter how much he talks about the short term winning streaks, the 26-23 record is unremarkable expecially when you compare it against someone like Duh Manager who is hitting at around 64% when plays are given out.
The play today is from Master Sports again and is a 3 1/2* on Virginia Tech.
ps the tape ran almost 6 minutes today, and that is no exaggeration.

On the other hand, in football, Phil does NOT want to talk about the short term, in this case the entire season, because his record is so miserable, BUT would rather talk about his OVERALL record over the last ten years which is better;this in essence Phil's version of heads I win and tails you lose;in essence, this is just one more example of Phil Stoole's attempts to mislead, spin,deceive, lie(by omission) and in general try to present himself in a manner which does not represent reality. He may be a good and clever marketer, but by my definition he is a LIAR and a SCAMDICAPPER.

Lets take a look at the latest Phil Steele spin on this comp. line.:
I just called and he said that new play would be up later.
Now here is where it gets interesting and misleading.
First of all, the overall record on the comp. line with tonight's loss is 27-26.
He states that there may be a comp. from either Great Lake Sports, which is 6-0 on the Comp. line this year or Billy Coleman, who is 13-3 when he releases a 4* on the comp. line(don't know if that means just this year or goes back to last couple of years).
For the sake of argument, lets say that the two records are both for this year, meaning they are a combined 19-3.
Now deduct that from overall record, and you will see it is now at 8-23.
That tells me that that the other cappers' comps aren't worth a good god damn and/or that people should play only the comps. Great Lake Comps. or Billy Coleman 4*'s(the fact that he specifies 4*'s leads me to believe that the 3*'s or less of Coleman aren't so hot).
The above representation is typical of Phil, who does the same thing with his own record-spinning it, picking out time frames which give an unrealistic indication as to how he is REALLY doing, leaving out such things in his recaps such as totals when they lose;in general he gives a one sided, devious, handpicked version of the truth while leaving out much that is relevant, the reason being to deceive folks into thinking he is a better capper than he really is, which is a Grade C at best and that is being very generous.
Just check out the regular NC forum;by most anyone standards for this season anyways, he would get a Grade F.

He states that there may be a comp. from either Great Lake Sports, which is 6-0 on the Comp. line this year or Billy Coleman, who is 13-3 when he releases a 4* on the comp. line(don't know if that means just this year or goes back to last couple of years). For the sake of argument, lets say that the two records are both for this year, meaning they are a combined 19-3. Now deduct that from overall record, and you will see it is now at 8-23. That tells me that that the other cappers' comps aren't worth a good god damn and/or that people should play only the comps. Great Lake Comps. or Billy Coleman 4's(the fact that he specifies 4's leads me to believe that the 3*'s or less of Coleman aren't so hot). The above representation is typical of Phil, who does the same thing with his own record-spinning it, picking out time frames which give an unrealistic indication as to how he is REALLY doing, leaving out such things in his recaps such as totals when they lose;in general he gives a one sided, devious, handpicked version of the truth while leaving out much that is relevant, the reason being to deceive folks into thinking he is a better capper than he really is, which is a Grade C at best and that is being very generous. Just check out the regular NC forum;by most anyone standards for this season anyways, he would get a Grade F.
