Northcoast Basketball and Baseball Comp. line for 2009-2010 - Sports handicapping Forum

Today begins a new season.
Basketball and baseball comps. will be included in the record keeping.
When there is a hockey comp., it will be given but not counted in the record(the same that Phil does).
What follows is a reprint of what I posted today in the 2008-2009 thread so that you will have an idea as to how the comps. have done over the past few years and the manner in which Phil runs the comp. line:

This thread is officially closed as of today, as a new NBA season starts tonight.
There will be a new Basketball and Baseball Comp. Line up later.
Lets see apart from all of the bullshit, hype and smokescreen thrown at us by Phil and his fag. ass kissing assistant the comps. have done for the past few seasons at $1000 a game($1000 for a win and Minus $1100 for a loss):
For the 2007-2008 season the comps. went 254-210-4 or PLUS $23000.
For the season just completed the comps. went 161-182-6 or MINUS $39200.
Thus if you played every one of these games for $1000, you would have lost $16200.
Listen to the comp. line message just about any day, and you will get the impression that these comps are really quality and winning ones, as they are actual plays and not really comps.
Then again most of you guys know that Phil Steele isn't known for his honesty, and thus above shouldn't be surprising.

Anyways, the first comp. of the new season in a 3* from Hot Shit Sports on UNDER Cleveland.

(Yes, I was an idiot) That was before I signed up with this great site. Anyways, thanks for your posting here and the humor you add to it. I get a good laugh because you say everythinig I have ever felt about Phil and NC Sports.

Comp. pushes yesterday-depending on when someone played it, it could have won, lost or pushed-we will accept the call of push although if someone played it very late, they would have lost by 1/2 point according to closing line at scoresandodds.com.
Record is 0-0-1.
The comp. is a 3* from Young Guns on Charlotte.

An incredibly stupid pick yesterday assuming Celts would have a letdown and/or be tired after defeating Cleveland the night before and considering it was only their second game of the year and their home opener-this is precisely the type of reasoning which led to the laughable and horrific record during the 2008-2009 season.
Today's comp. is a 3* from MTI on UNDER San Antonio.

At the front of the tape on Tuesday Phil brags that going back to 10/8 the comps. have gone 13-4.
Now keep in mind that his alleged record goes back to the the 2008-2009 season and includes the new season which began on 10/27.
To make a long story short, that 13-4 record he claimed seemed awfully good to me even though picks have done better of late.
Anyways,I went back to 10/8, the date when the alleged streak began and tallied it up to today when he made the tape.
I actually tallied it up twice and each time I got 10-5-2, which is still good but not as good as his alleged 13-4.
My conclusion is that he took a couple of games which were close to the line but fairly graded as either a tie or a loss and conveniently called them winners hoping no one would go back and verify this record.
This is just one other instance of the sneaky and LYING/deceptive method in which Mr. Steele operates, and frankly I am not that surprised.
Keep in mind also that when he states this football club set of picks or that club is (for example) 34-16 going back to 2006, the chances are that he is doing the same thing, ie essentially taking liberties by calling losers or ties winners of just by fudging the data altogether, again assuming that no one is going to go back over a number of years and see whether he is telling the truth or not.
Trust me when I tell you that the liberties and just plain LIES we see here on the basketball comp. line is just the tip of iceberg, and he has committed many more over the years;as shown in this example, he is quite slick and sneaky, and that is why I refer to him sometimes as an illusionist.
I sure hope that many of you are catching on to his act by now, and if you have, let others know that the man who always brags about telling us about the losers as well as the winners and just being plain honest "unlike those other services" is in fact one of the worst liars out there even though his lies are not obvious except to (and not brag) the trained eye of guys like myself.
ps If any of you don't believe me, go back to October 8 and tally it up yourselves to noon on Tuesday, when he made the tape.

The 14-4 record as claimed by Phil today of late as stated in previous post is a DOWNRIGHT LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I defy Phil, one of his flunkies or anyone who reads this thread to show me how these plays have gone 14-4 since 10/8 rather than the 11-5-2 I get(and thats being generous with couple of close calls on a couple of games!!!).

Comp. loses-even Phil can't lie his way out of this one.
The record for the season is now 4-4-1.
Beginning today hockey comps. will count in the record as Phil has decided to count them-actually he decided to count them just recently because unlike the baseball and basketball, which were a disaster in the season just ended, they were winning.
If the hockey comps. had lost, they would not have counted in Phil's way of doing things.
Since Phil wants to try to pad his record of late by going back to the last thread and Oct. 78(the 14-5 record he claims even using the hockey is a fabrication), we will also from time to time including today use the ENTIRE 2008/2009 season as well as the present one to use his REAL record.
Starting at beginning of 2008 basketball/baseball season through today(and starting today including hockey), comps. have gone 165-186-6.
If you had played them at $1000 a clip($1000 for a win and MINUS $1100) for a loss, you would have LOST $39600.
Today 's comp. is a 4* from Rocketman on Detroit in hockey.

If there was every any doubt that Phil Steele is a liar, the recap for yesterday dispels it 100%.
Yesterday the comp. was UNDER New Jersey 190 1/2;after the game was over, I called again to makes sure I heard it correctly-it was again given out at 190 1/2.
The reason I called is that 191 points were scored making it a LOSER.
Here is where it get interesting:
The line moved later to as high as 193 1/2, where it closed at most places which would make the game a winner.
The reason I bring this up is that there were three games last week by which the line quoted on the comp. line when it was made made the games winners or a push.
Later on the line moved against the favorable line and made the games losers or a push.
In these cases Phil decided to use the line given out when comp. was given out rather than closing line because the results were better.
Thus, we see that Phil is inconsistent and chooses the better line-the opening or closing one depending on the result of the game-this is pure deception and this is exactly what he has done for man years with his own set of picks, which is one of the reasons his records as stated are inflated or if you will just plain LIES!
The comp. today is again from the Coal/Excrement Man and is a 3* again from the Coal/Excrement man on UNDER Atlanta 213 1/2(or higher if the line goes higher and he needs the points to call the game a winner lol).
We are RIGHTFULLY calling yesterday's comp. a LOSER by the line given out when tape was made makign record for the year 5-5-1.

I made an error-I forgot to count the loss on Nov. 7 on UNDER Atlanta, which adds on one more loss to the record, bringing it to 5-8-1 on the season.
I will be curious as to how he scores yesterday's comp. on UNDER Oklahoma City, as line was right around 199, and that is exactly how many points were scored;actually I saw lines during the day ranging from 198 to 199 1/2.
Knowing that Phil usually chooses the best/most favorable line, he will score it either as a win or a push.
I am going to count it as a push as it closed at 199 at scoresandodds.
If he tries to get cute and call it a win, I am going to call it a loss, as it was under 199 for most of the day.

One further note about post #22:
I called again to verify the number that the faggy assistant gave out-it was 199.
Just look at post #17 from last week if you haven't done so already, as that indicates that the line given out with the comp. play applies ONLY if there is a not a better line during the day-that was the case in that instance as the line moved in their favor.
I wonder what the chances are they will take a loss for yesterday as the line moved against the 199 later on during the day. lol

Comp. loses-record is back in its customary losing mode and is now 5-9-2 for the season; so far it appears the 2009-2010 season is merely a continuation of losing, which is all we saw during the 2008/2009 season just completed.
The comp. turns to hockey tonight(and this year we will be counting the plays as Phil is)-the play is again from the the Coal/Excrement Man, Billy Coleman, and is a 3* on OVER Ottawa.

I agree with you Chugger;just go back and read #17-I expose him all of the time-that is the point of these threads.
However in this case I don't think the 5 1/2 line was out of line.
I bet it myself at 5 1/2 at Bookmaker earlier and won(their hockey plays have been their only bright light for the last month when they have them). For baskets and hockey, I use and have always used the scoresandodds final line as the determining factor.

I will be curious as to how he scores yesterday's comp. on UNDER Oklahoma City, as line was right around 199, and that is exactly how many points were scored;actually I saw lines during the day ranging from 198 to 199 1/2. Knowing that Phil usually chooses the best/most favorable line, he will score it either as a win or a push. I am going to count it as a push as it closed at 199 at scoresandodds. If he tries to get cute and call it a win, I am going to call it a loss, as it was under 199 for most of the day.

Just look at post #17 from last week if you haven't done so already, as that indicates that the line given out with the comp. play applies ONLY if there is a not a better line during the day-that was the case in that instance as the line moved in their favor. I wonder what the chances are they will take a loss for yesterday as the line moved against the 199 later on during the day. lol
