Default LBJs-10 dollar tip,lol

We are all witnesses. But not everything about the LeBron is worth witnessing. Sure, he has the $400,000 car, Jay-Z in his corner, and Phil Knight wrapped around his diamond pinkie ring. But witness how His Greatness treats the little people, and you may begin to see the virtue of Brendan Haywood's hard fouls.

One of LeBron's favorite places to dine is XO Prime Steaks on West Sixth. Its mix of swank drinks and delicately massaged beef allows the Chosen One to consume calories worthy of his royal digestive system. All of which is swell — except that LeBron is among Cleveland's stingiest tippers.

According to a Punch source, a peer recently quit after tiring of LeBron going Scrooge McDuck on his ass.

It went down like this: LeBron pulls up in his Mercedes outside XO. People stop and try not to stare, but c'mon, it's LeBron James. He enters the restaurant with a group of friends. On this special occasion, the King decides to dine late. He keeps his group there until around 3:45 a.m. During this time the waiter obsequiously pours drinks and fetches anything else His Greatness needs.

The final bill comes to $800. By the feudal laws of decorum, which stipulate that the affluent should administer a 20 percent gratuity, staffers figured they'd be pocketing an extra $160. But when they fetched the autographed bill after His Heinousness bolted back to Akron, their expectation turned to disbelief, then anger.

LeBron stiffed them with a meager $10 tip. This is what French nobles like to call your requisite Bourgeois Bitch-Slap. The waiter wouldn't even take it, tired of being shat on by guys like LeBron

Hope he never comes into my place of work,K-1

Still, at least the self-proclaimed King of Ohio didn't pull a Bernie Kosar — who gets sloshed at the bar and then has to remind the waiters of who he is before he stiffs them.

This is the whole story from the paper with the date,I would not have put it here if it was not a true story.

Wow-I am surprised that "babysitter" Stern didn't suspend him;after all, the idiot enforces dress codes-why stop there? Make it mandatory that all the players leave at least 20% at restaurants or be fined or suspended.

and.... what if there were 8 or more in his party, where I worked in the day, an autoomatic 20% was added for larger parties, we would hope that people wouldn't read the the fine print and we would get double tipped...takes care of the problem right there.

LOL!...when i served tables we put the 20% on EVERY check until the owner found out and we could only do it for parties of 6 or more...almost every table tipped on top of that 20%!

I don't care-its up to the team to make the dress codes for its players if it so wishes but not the Commissioner;I would think someone like you who doesn't want too much government interference(yeah I know this is not govt. interefernce but it is still from outside) would believe more like I do and for me who tends toward the left would think more like you in this particular instance.

the league is what makes money, a individual team is nothing without the league. the commissioner's of every sport are like the CEO of the business. anyone that owns a business has the right to tell his employees how they present themselves in company time. it's not from outside, it's your employer!

that really disapoints me. i would never steal from someone like that. it seems like you are proud of it. if i were the owner of the business, i would have found out if you could be prosicuted, or made you pay back every customer of mine that i could contact.

I disagree with your interpretation;Stern does not own the players. If you want to use that term, the owners of the teams themselves are really the "owners" of the players and thus the ones who should set the dress codes, as they are the ones who pay their salaries and NOT Stern.
To play devil's advocate, evn if we accept your premise, then the refs are also employees of the league and judging by what is coming out about them, the integrity of the game has been compromised.
M entire point is that compared to what players are permitted to wear and not wear, it is of very little importance relatively speaking and an obviously misplaced priority.

take mcdonalds for an example. just because you own a franchise, doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. you have to go by their rules, buy their food, wear their uniforms, etc.

Its a little different re: uniforms when they are working as opposed to what they wear when they are NOT working.
A more appropriate example would be baseball where all teams wear uniforms of their team when they are playing.
EACH team howwever has its own dress code re: such things as how they should dress when they are not playing;some teams like Yankees don't even permit long hair and/or facial hair.
The point is that in baseball the individual teams set the rules as they pay the salaries;this is how it should be in the NBA also.
To use your example, does McDonalds tell their employees what they can and cannot wear, how to appear in public, etc. when they are not working?
Again, trying to improve the image of the league by strict dress codes set by the League pales in importance and relativity when the officials are corrupt and the integrity of the game has been compromised.

LOL!!!....if you were the owner of a restaurant maybe you would learn how to spell before you made a fool of yourself!...if you contacted people who didn't know they were double tipping and told them they did, they definitely would not return to your restaurant!...bol

As someone whos been in this business for 30 years I have to disagree here,Custs.would be happy that someone is looking out for them.I work in a union hotel and what you did is cause for being fired and I know you wont like this but it is considered stealing. And if Lebron came to were I work with his party, they would add 18% to the bill for the tip and there is nothing he could do about it,its in the contract.

And to answer your other point husker, yeh Ive had the big shot who says I got this round in his suit, trying to impress himself, and I know what Im getting,NOTHING,
Which was my point, dont judge a book by its cover.

i am pretty sure the dress code only involves before and after games, and press confrences. they aren't saying what they have to wear away from league events.
